The first Operating System (Google Chrome OS) from Google is not yet released but it is one of the hot topic in technical world. As every new operating system, Google chrome too faces the device driver issues. To get the optimum performance of a device or avoiding device conflict we need to install correct driver for peripheral devices. It is one of the hardest issues when every release of operating systems faces. To get a proper driver for new OS releases we may need to wait few months after the release of OS. Google Chrome too not an exception.
BTW google has a different plan for this issue. Let us hear what Linus Upson, engineering director for the Chrome browser and Chrome OS, says about it.
” We want to get out of the business of printer drivers. All the problems related to drivers we want to go away ”
Why he is saying only about printer drivers ? What about other devices ? He adds the following sentence too.
” The good news is that for most input devices today, there are basic standards that allow them to operate without needing a specific drive for each device ”
So the major driver issues are with printing devices only. So Google plans to do something different and not going to practice the traditional methods. Nobody has any idea which technology is going to be implemented. So we all need to wait until the release of Google Chrome OS and it is expected in 2010.
